We are looking to appoint a permanent part‑time School Science Technician to join our busy and supportive Science Department. This role plays a key part in enabling high‑quality practical science teaching across the school. Working alongside the Senior Technician and teaching staff, you will be responsible for preparing, organising, and maintaining equipment and materials for practical lessons, ensuring all resources are managed safely and efficiently.
We are looking for someone with:
- Appropriate science qualifications and/or laboratory experience
- A proactive and organised approach to work
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and good judgement
- An understanding of safe working practices in a laboratory environment
Key duties include:
- Preparing apparatus, materials, and solutions for practical classes
- Supporting the safe storage, management, and disposal of chemicals
- Maintaining stock levels and keeping preparation areas organised
- Ensuring equipment is cleaned, maintained, and safely stored after use
Applicants are encouraged to clearly outline the skills, experience, and attributes they would bring to this role, with reference to the job description and person specification. This post is 18.5 hours per week, term‑time plus 2 additional weeks, contracted for a total of 41 weeks per year. The salary quoted is for a full‑time post; your salary will be pro‑rata.
