We are seeking a skilled, motivated and inspirational Supervisory Worker to join our management team. Falkirk Council has a significant transformational change programme to ensure we are fit for the future and harnessing opportunities to improve outcomes for the people of Falkirk. Our Children’s Services Closer to Home Strategy has at its heart, the aim of supporting children to live safely at home and within their own communities. When this is not possible our aim is to provide high quality, loving, nurturing care that has relationships at its heart. We value the importance of working alongside children, young people, parents and carers to build strength and capacity.

We require a Supervisory Worker who will contribute to the day to day operational management responsibility for each house, and when required work flexibly providing management cover over both houses. You will be committed to the Council of the Future agenda as well as the service specific priorities within the Children’s Services Closer to Home Strategy and The Promise.

You will support the Residential Manager and Senior Workers to lead the service through a process of change and development. You will contribute to the service development plans and their effective implementation for both houses and oversee staff training and development. You will promote a culture of continuous improvement and undertake quality improvement tasks.

You will have responsibility for staff support and supervision and managing staff time. You will contribute to management of the budget. You will contribute to the management of sickness absence and reporting systems. You will contribute to monitoring health and safety and ensuring the service fulfils its statutory responsibilities. You will lead in promoting trauma informed practice. You will be involved chairing meetings and attending reviews.

It is desirable that the post holder has a Degree level qualification and/or SVQ4 however we will look at candidates who have relevant experience in a supervisory category and are willing to work towards the relevant management qualification. Knowledge and experience of relevant legislation, best practice and innovation in a relevant field is essential. You must have the ability to be mobile across the Council area. Shifts include weekends, public holidays, evenings and nights.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
