Are you an experienced gas professional looking for a role where your expertise truly makes a difference? We are seeking a skilled and motivated BMD R&M Contracts Officer (GAS) to join our team and support the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of gas services across the Council’s housing stock.
In this key position, you will be responsible for managing and reporting on all aspects of Gas Servicing, Maintenance and Installation works. Your strong technical background and valid ACS Gas qualifications—including CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, MET1 and HWSS—will underpin your day‑to‑day responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and report on Gas Servicing, Maintenance and Installation activities.
- Provide high‑level technical support to ensure safe and compliant delivery of gas services.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of all Gas Framework Contracts.
- Ensure the Council meets its statutory, contractual and legal obligations as an Employer and Landlord in relation to Domestic Gas Safety.
- Work closely with and report to the Gas Co‑ordinator.
- Organise and coordinate daily resources within the Gas Section to ensure effective service delivery.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in gas service delivery and contract management.
- A full understanding of current and emerging legislation, standards and regulations relating to domestic gas work.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety and Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations.
- Strong technical judgement and the ability to ensure safety, compliance and service excellence at all times.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
