The role is to ensure that technical standards are maintained for all Core works delivered by our in-house and external contractors. This post within the Housing Property Team will also focus on assisting and advising our tenants on a variety of complex issues e.g., dampness and mould to ensure that our tenants can best manage their homes.
This is a great opportunity to join our Property Team and provide advice across Falkirk Council’s Housing portfolio. This post will focus on statutory and mandatory compliance within the social housing sector with a specific focus on complex repairs and maintenance of our Properties.
A sound knowledge of reactive and planned maintenance in the social housing sector is essential. You will be required to make decisions on all aspects of housing repair and contract related work based on observations made on-site and from information received.
You will provide complex technical advice and support to Housing Coordinators and Housing Officers in meeting their technical responsibilities. You will carry out comprehensive technical inspections of Council owned properties, quantify repairs, provide accurate measurements, and issue work instructions on a frequent basis.
You will also be required to inspect work carried out by contractors and act as necessary to ensure works are completed timeously and to specification. You will be able to prioritize workloads, work under pressure and work in a team with minimal supervision. You will be required to be mobile across the council area.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
