Falkirk Council is seeking an experienced and motivated officer to support and lead its work to prevent and respond to Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). You will take the lead on the commissioning and oversight of specialist VAWG services for the area, ensuring high‑quality, needs‑led provision.

A key part of the role will involve strengthening partnership working and driving forward the delivery of the new VAWG Strategy and Strategic Action Plan, ensuring effective collaboration, shared ownership and meaningful progress across the partnership. As Lead Officer, you will provide expert policy advice, guidance and support on VAWG issues, working closely with council services, partner agencies and stakeholders to support compliance with statutory legislation and guidance, including Equally Safe.

You will lead on data collection, evidence gathering and analysis to support strategic planning and the achievement of equality objectives.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience of commissioning specialist services and contract management
  • Strong knowledge and experience in violence against women and girls or related fields
  • A proven commitment to partnership working and improving outcomes for women, children and young people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands and work independently on your own initiative
