Are you a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with skills to provide strategic and operational financial advice to a large, complex and evolving organisation? Then this exciting role may be for you.
Working with senior managers across the Council to support our priority of financial sustainability, you’ll report to our Chief Finance Officer and lead our Finance team to provide excellent, comprehensive advice to support rigorous financial management.
You’ll ensure our Finance team, who oversee our revenue and capital budgets, treasury management and insurance functions, have effective and responsive relationships across all our services. You will ensure that our teams use a high quality and consistent approach to drive change and enhance the support we provide. You’ll also oversee our financial systems team.
You will help us build on our latest Audit report from Audit Scotland which shows that we have effective and appropriate arrangements in place for Financial Management; Financial Sustainability; Vision, Leadership and Governance; and Use of Resources to Improve Outcomes. You’ll do this by promoting a culture of continual improvement and supporting our services to deliver on our Council Plan vision and priorities.
This is a high‑profile role where you will get opportunities to drive forward new initiatives and achieve excellence in service delivery within a dynamic and changing environment.
