Bo’ness Academy is a busy secondary school, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and well‑organised Clerical Assistant to join our school office team. The successful candidate will provide front‑line support for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional reception service.

Key duties will include:

  • Reception and switchboard duties
  • Supporting pupil and parent enquiries
  • General administrative and clerical tasks
  • Updating and maintaining school systems, including the school website
  • Data entry and data management in line with GDPR requirements
  • Supporting school communication processes
  • Other office duties as required to support the smooth running of the school

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Competence with ICT systems, including Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks
  • The ability to work well within a busy team environment
  • Experience working in a school or similar environment (desirable)

This post is 30 hours per week, term‑time plus 2 additional weeks, contracted for a total of 41 weeks per year. The salary quoted is for a full‑time post; your salary will be pro‑rata. If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
