Job Advert Join Our Facilities Team – Chargehand Cleaner Do you have an eye for detail, a commitment to high standards, and the confidence to lead by example? We’re looking for a proactive and dependable Chargehand Cleaner to join our Facilities (Soft FM) team, supporting one of our schools or early years centres across the Falkirk Council area. In this hands-on role, you’ll combine cleaning duties with day-to-day supervision of a small cleaning team – ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. What You’ll Do: Carry out a range of cleaning tasks including floors, surfaces, toilets and communal areas Operate powered cleaning equipment as required Monitor cleaning quality and ensure work is completed to a high standard Support and supervise cleaning staff on-site, encouraging strong team working Handle stock control, basic administrative duties and assist with staff induction/training Report faults or issues affecting the service Adhere to COSHH and Health & Safety regulations What We’re Looking For: Experience in cleaning or facilities services is essential Confidence supervising others and delegating tasks Strong attention to detail and organisational skills A positive, team-oriented attitude Basic literacy and numeracy Knowledge of COSHH and safe working practices A British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) certificate is desirable The Role: Location: Nethermains Primary School Hours: 15 hours per week Days: Monday to Friday 5.30am to 8.30am Contract: Temporary until 31 st December 2026 Line Management: Responsible for supervising a team of Cleaners Why Join Us?
