Job Advert An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated finance professional to join the Accountancy Services team as an Accountant. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality financial management and budgetary control across Council services. You will be responsible for providing financial and management accounting advice to Service Managers, including tasks such as budget preparation and monitoring, financial reporting, grant claim administration, reconciliations, statutory returns and financial investigations, helping to ensure sound financial governance and decision-making. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, together with experience of working in a finance environment. This role requires a qualification in Accounting, along with professional membership of a CCAB. Previous experience of working as part of a team and working within a Public Sector environment are highly desirable. This role offers hybrid working, allowing employees to work both from home and in Council locations, to support business needs. We promote a balanced approach, ensuring staff have the right environment to collaborate with colleagues while also having the option to work independently when appropriate. If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a Disclosure Scotland check, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
