Role Purpose
The primary requirement of the role is to provide Linux managed services dedicated to one of our biggest customers. The role is a Technical Consultant Linux, who would be expected to assist with design and delivery, systems administration, and operational tasks, participate in projects, create, and maintain quality documentation, contribute to teamwork and improvements, all based on industry best practices.
Responsibilities/Accountability
- L3 support for any BAU task (incidents/service requests/changes) ensuring SLAs are met.
- Deployment, configuration, and management of Linux systems according to best practices and standards.
- Deployment, configuration, and management of Kubernetes systems.
- Experience with using and maintaining Ansible frameworks.
- Ensuring ITIL / Agile procedures are followed, e.g., Incident Management and Change Management processes.
- Collaboration with other team members or other teams to develop and improve automation strategies and deployment processes.
- Collaboration with architects and design team when required.
- Knowledge sharing and documentation.
- Incorporation of best practices and standards.
- Internal and external projects support.
- Ability to work on different implementations of supported technologies.
- Participation in Service Acceptance duties ensuring solutions are supportable by the team.
- Ensure all working time is accounted for within the timesheet system to ensure accurate charge back to our end clients.
- Attend onsite (Bucharest) at customer premises on a regular basis or when required.
Skills/Experience
- System administration RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian.
- Configuration Management/Automation Red Hat Satellite server / Uyuni.
- Python, Java, shell scripting.
- Ansible, Gitlab.
- Containers Docker.
- Middleware/Web servers Apache / Nginx.
Nice to have / recommended
- Databases Oracle, MySQL etc.
- Kubernetes.
Ability to troubleshoot, research and diagnose root cause for an incident or problem. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Understanding of ITIL / Agile Service Management fundamentals. Knowledge of IT process tools such as Service-Now would be beneficial. Good client-facing skills. Experience of working in a similar ICT Managed Services environment would be beneficial. Collaborator but also able to work on their own or with a multilingual / remote team.
Qualification/Certification requirements
Graduate/Engineering or RHEL certified Administrator or 6+ years of experience as a system administrator.
