This is a varied and practical engineering role where you’ll work across new product development, compliance testing, prototype builds and sustaining engineering activities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building, modifying and instrumenting prototypes and pilot units
- Planning and carrying out compliance, EMC, environmental and performance testing
- Supporting new product development and existing product improvements
- Driving DFM, reliability and serviceability enhancements
- Managing test programmes, reports and certification evidence
- Supporting component changes, second sourcing and product variants
- Coordinating external laboratory testing and reviewing results
- Working closely with Design, Production, Quality and Technical teams to deliver right-first-time solutions
The Person
We’re seeking an engineer who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, hands-on mindset.
- Experience in product testing, compliance engineering or appliance development
- Knowledge of gas and/or electrical appliance standards and testing
- Hands-on skills in prototype assembly, wiring, instrumentation and fault finding
- Experience producing technical reports and compliance documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
- Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Gas Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience within commercial appliances, certification, laboratory engineering or compliance testing is highly desirable
