Technical Assistant in Shipdham

Job Title: Technical Assistant Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Location: Shipdham, Norfolk Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 5:00pm, with an unpaid lunch break of half an hour. Salary: £29,000.00 to £33,000.00 per annum, to be discussed on application. Benefits: Pension Scheme Death in Service Enhanced annual leave based on service (first increase of one day after 2 years) About the Company: Within the Falcon Group is Falcon Tower Crane Services, the largest tower crane supplier in the UK and one of the largest in the world with just under 450 tower cranes nationwide. Falcon Power Generation operates 400 generators nationwide, along with Falcon Freight who operate a fleet of 40 HGV vehicles supporting artic and rigid HIAB cranes. We are looking for a full-time Technical Assistant to join our Technical Department at Shipdham, Norfolk. Comprehensive training and continual support will be provided. The role will evolve over time as you become established, with opportunities to expand your technical knowledge, responsibilities and skills. The Role: Working closely with the Associate Technical Director and the wider Technical Department, you will provide technical and administrative support across Falcon's crane hire and sales operations. You will be responsible for producing technical drawings, foundation loadings, crane configurations and build sheets, as well as maintaining technical databases and document control systems. The role will also involve responding to technical queries from customers and Falcon departments, liaising with crane manufacturers and completing technical checks on colleagues' work. A key requirement of the role is strong technical and IT knowledge, including experience with Autodesk 2D/3D CAD, Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint, together with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. What We're Looking For: Essential Experience & Qualifications: Proven experience in a technical, engineering, construction or similarly detailed role. Experience using Autodesk 2D/3D CAD. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proactive approach with the ability to use initiative and solve problems. Desirable: Experience within the tower crane, lifting, construction or engineering industry. Knowledge of crane configurations, foundation loadings or technical drawings. Understanding of Temporary Works procedures and management. Experience with technical databases or document control.
