A highly regarded Main Contractor operating throughout the UK and Europe are currently seeking a Senior Engineer for a major commercial Fit Out in Central London. An experienced Senior Engineer who is process-driven and solutions focused to work on their flagship project in Central London and manage the infrastructure package on the project. As a Senior Engineer, you will directly report into the Project Manager on site and work collaboratively with them to drive standards and ensure the project is finished on time and within budget. This is an amazing opportunity for a career-driven construction professional to add a prestigious commercial fit-out project to their portfolio. Working for a fast-growing main contractor, they are offering full site autonomy.
Senior Engineer Role and Responsibilities:
- Managing the infrastructure package on site.
- Checking work of subcontractors setting out and works as required.
- Working closely with subcontractors which involves keeping a daily diary of levels of work for each subcontractor.
- Assisting and managing junior staff.
- Producing QA reports.
- Going to weekly management meetings and liaising with other members of staff such as Site Clerks, Quantity Surveyors and Health Safety Officers.
The successful Senior Engineer will have:
- Ability to manage a junior staff member.
- Strong experience with steel structures, roofing, facades, curtain walling.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Pedantic, diligent, very well organised, neat senior engineer who has ability to appropriately maintain site engineering control at high level but remain very hands on site.
- Would suit an engineer looking to move into management (there will be a significant management element to this role after the initial engineering stage is complete).
- This opportunity would suit a candidate who has previous experience in the commercial fit-out sector.
This role is paying up to £55k + Competitive Package.
