Currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quantity Surveyor with building experience to join our dynamic team and support the successful delivery of cutting-edge data centre projects in London.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the financial and contractual management of our data centre projects. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Your expertise in cost management, procurement, and contract administration will ensure the success of our high-profile data centre developments.
Key Responsibilities:- Cost Management: Oversee all aspects of cost control, from initial estimating through to final account settlements for data centre projects.
- Procurement: Manage the procurement of subcontractors, materials, and services, ensuring compliance with project requirements and budgets.
- Budgeting and Reporting: Monitor and report on project costs, providing timely updates and recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.
- Contract Administration: Assist in the administration of contracts, including the management of variations, claims, and disputes.
- Value Engineering: Work closely with the design and construction teams to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage potential risks associated with the project, providing recommendations to mitigate any financial impact.
- Client Liaison: Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring a collaborative approach to achieving project goals.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a focus on data centre projects or similar complex, high-value builds.
- Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT, NEC), cost management, and procurement processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
