A European-wide principal contractor that specialises in delivering complex data centre projects across Europe is rapidly expanding and looking to add a detail-driven M&E Commissioning Engineer to their team, reporting into the Commissioning Lead. This contractor is working with some of the most prestigious clients in this sector and has a strong pipeline in the area.

The ideal candidate will come from a similar background with experience overseeing commissioning of large scale residential, commercial or industrial projects. Data centre experience is desired; however, it is not essential, as the client is more than willing to provide the necessary training for someone with the right attitude.

You will be joining a close-knit team and a company that has an order book full for several years, making it a fantastic time to be joining. This role can either be permanent on the books or contract for the right candidate. Please also note that you must have a right to work in Europe to apply for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management of all company commissioning responsibilities on site, including the setup, management of, and closing out of the Commissioning plan for the project.
  • Management of direct reports.
  • Management of the Commissioning Tagging process and procedures.
  • Reporting progress on all Commissioning activities both internally and externally.
  • Chairing weekly commissioning meetings and directing weekly commissioning activities.
  • Chairing daily whiteboard meetings on commissioning.
  • Attending the Main Contractor and clients' weekly commissioning meetings and reporting out weekly progress.
  • Development of the Project commissioning schedule in conjunction with the project planners.
  • Ensuring that all testing and commissioning workforce is tracked on the site Labour allocation Tracker sheets and issued daily.
The ideal Commissioning Manager will have:
  • Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years’ experience in a commissioning manager role on large scale industrial projects.
  • Extensive commissioning knowledge of the typical Mechanical and Electrical systems associated with Data Centres.
  • A thorough understanding of building regulation and European standards, codes and practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-working environment and have strong social skills.
  • Flexibility to travel.
