A leading principal contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor for a high-profile engineering scheme in Mainland Europe. With a project value exceeding £100m, this role offers an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious, commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to work on a landmark development. The successful candidate will bring strong M&E experience across diverse projects, along with a proven ability to deliver schemes on time and within budget. Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting final costs and revenues.
- Develop and maintain accurate project cashflow forecasts.
- Measure, assess, submit, and negotiate variations to the contract.
- Provide commercial and contractual guidance to the project team.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate final accounts for the project.
- Review and certify subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Ensure all commercial processes and procedures are followed at project level.
- Prepare and manage project purchasing targets and cost budgets.
- Monitor project changes to maintain continuous awareness of cost status.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering with contractors and consultants to deliver cost-effective, fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Produce clear and comprehensive scopes of work in line with the project’s build specification.
- Manage procurement of all subcontract packages in accordance with company standards and sustainability goals.
- Prepare scopes of work and trade package documentation.
- Compile and recommend a selected tender list for approval.
To apply for the role the Quantity Surveyor must have the following:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
- ONC, HNC, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Demonstrated success in a comparable role within the M&E sector.
- Chartered status with RICS/CIOB or a commitment to achieving membership.
- Proven ability to deliver projects within demanding timeframes.
- Strong strategic planning skills with a methodical approach to workload management.
