Estimator – Main Contractor Location: Birmingham, West Midlands Job Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive Salary + Package An established Main Contractor is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their pre-construction team based out of their Birmingham office . This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with main contracting experience to join a business looking to strengthen its pre-construction function. The Role As Estimator, you will be involved throughout the tender process, working alongside the wider pre-construction, commercial and operational teams to produce competitive and accurate tenders. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations Producing accurate cost plans Identifying potential risks and opportunities within tenders Exploring value engineering opportunities Liaising with subcontractors and the wider supply chain Working closely with commercial, design and operational teams Supporting tender presentations and adjudications Assisting with the handover of successfully secured projects to the delivery team The Candidate The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry Experience working for a Main Contractor A strong understanding of construction methods, costs and tendering processes Good commercial awareness Strong communication and organisational skills The ability to manage tenders and work to deadlines This is a permanent opportunity based in Birmingham and would suit an Estimator looking for their next long-term move within a main contracting environment.
