An industry leading engineering contractor that operates across data centre, life science and semiconductor sectors is on the hunt for an Electrical Commissioning Manager for a new data centre in Cardiff. This project is the next phase of a large campus and the client have plans to continue here for the long term.
In terms of experience, someone coming from a data centre background is advantageous however candidates from other mission critical sectors will be considered. Project delivery ability, proven track record, in depth knowledge of complex Electrical packages is key.
You will be working for a market leading contractor that operates a diverse business model and demands modern health and safety and employee engagement practises. With the order book full for several years, there is excellent scope for a credible Commissioning Manager to play a pivotal role in helping the growth and expansion of this data centre division for the coming years.
- Management of all company commissioning responsibilities on site. This will include the setup, management of and closing out of the Commissioning plan for the project.
- Management of direct reports
- Management of the Commissioning Tagging process and procedures.
- Reporting Progress on all Commissioning activities both internally and externally.
- Chairing weekly commissioning meetings and directing weekly commissioning activities.
- Chairing daily whiteboard meetings on commissioning.
- Attending the Main Contractor and clients weekly commissioning meetings and reporting out weekly progress.
- Development of the Project commissioning scheduled in conjunction with the project planners.
- Ensuring that all testing and commissioning workforce is tracked on the site Labour allocation Tracker sheets and issued daily.
- 5+ years experience in similar role
- Right to work in UK
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience working for a reputable MEP contractor or GC
