We are working with a well-established and growing fit out contractor delivering high-quality commercial fit out projects across the UK, predominantly in London. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to take full ownership of the commercial function and lead a team of Quantity Surveyors. This is a senior leadership role with genuine influence over commercial strategy, team development, and project profitability.

As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for running the commercial side of the business across multiple fit out projects, ensuring strong financial performance, robust commercial controls, and effective team management. You will lead and mentor a team of Senior Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors, while working closely with Directors, Project Managers and Clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full commercial responsibility for multiple fit out projects (£5m–£40m)
  • Managing and developing a team of SQS, QS & AQS staff
  • Setting commercial strategy and procedures
  • Contract administration (JCT preferred)
  • Cost planning, forecasting and cash flow management
  • Procurement strategy and subcontractor management
  • Risk management and value engineering
  • Managing variations, valuations, final accounts and negotiations
  • Reporting to senior leadership / board level
About You:
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager (or Senior Commercial Manager) within fit out or interior contracting
  • Strong background managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experienced in managing and mentoring commercial teams
  • Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
  • Professional, organised and client-facing
