We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of 3–5 high-rise residential developments across Birmingham, with project values ranging from £50m+.
This is a highly client-facing role requiring a commercially astute construction professional with proven experience managing multiple large-scale schemes simultaneously. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving programme performance, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring operational excellence from pre-construction through to handover.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee 3–5 live high-rise residential projects across Birmingham
- Lead project teams to ensure delivery on programme, budget, quality, and safety targets
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Support Project Managers and Site Teams in resolving operational and commercial issues
- Monitor project performance, reporting progress and risks to senior leadership
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations and company standards
- Drive programme, procurement, and resource planning across multiple schemes
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and external partners to support repeat business opportunities
- Attend regular client meetings and lead progress reviews
- Promote a positive health & safety culture across all sites
- Previous experience working as a Contracts Manager or Project Director within a main contractor environment
- Proven track record delivering large-scale residential or mixed-use developments valued at £50m+
- Strong experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Strong leadership and team management capability
- Commercial awareness with a good understanding of construction contracts and programme management
- Experience delivering high-rise residential schemes is essential
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred
- Experience working within the Birmingham or wider Midlands market
- Stable career history with recognised main contractors
- Ability to lead from pre-construction through to completion
