Site Manager * Major Groundworks Package * Main Contractor – Industrial Project * Based in Derby * Freelance: Up to Β£350 per day CIS We are currently searching for a Site Manager who specialises in groundworks packages for a substantial industrial project in Derby. The package itself includes cut & fill, enabling, drainage, S276 works and general groundworks. There is scope for this role to go further into the build package as well. The role: * Plan and manage all groundworks activities, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to specification. * Oversee day-to-day operations on-site, managing groundworks teams and subcontractors, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. * Ensure all groundworks activities comply with health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and ensure safe working practices are followed. * Organise and manage plant, machinery, and materials required for groundworks activities, ensuring efficient use and minimizing downtime. * Monitor groundworks processes (e.g., excavation, drainage, foundations) to ensure they meet technical specifications and design requirements. * Oversee costs associated with groundworks activities, track budgets, and take corrective actions to avoid cost overruns. * Liaise with site managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of groundworks tasks and address any issues or changes. * Address and resolve issues that arise during the groundworks phase, including technical challenges, delays, or material shortages. * Maintain accurate records of progress, quality inspections, daily site reports, and any variations to scope.
