A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Norway.

This is an exciting opportunity to support delivery from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.

Working as part of an experienced project team, you will play a key role in developing and managing project programmes, ensuring successful planning, coordination and execution across all phases of the project lifecycle.

As a Senior Planner, you will work closely with project management, engineering, commercial, procurement and construction teams to ensure programmes remain accurate, achievable and aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and manage detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
  • Prepare tender, baseline, construction and commissioning programmes.
  • Produce fully logic-linked schedules, identifying and managing the critical path.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline programmes and provide regular programme updates.
  • Produce weekly and short-term look-ahead programmes to support site operations.
  • Identify programme risks, delays and opportunities, recommending mitigation and recovery strategies where required.
  • Prepare progress reports, programme narratives and variance analysis for project and client reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, commercial, procurement and site teams to ensure programme alignment.
  • Review subcontractor programmes and integrate them into the overall project schedule.
  • Support change management, delay analysis and programme impact assessments.
  • Participate in planning meetings and provide ongoing planning support throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Strong experience using Primavera P6 on major construction projects.
  • Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, programme logic and critical path analysis.
  • Experience developing tender, baseline and live construction programmes.
  • The ability to analyse project performance and develop practical mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple programme interfaces.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how planning influences successful project delivery.
  • Previous experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, energy or other complex construction projects.
  • Experience working within mechanical and electrical (MEP) contracting environments.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and project handover planning.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
