We are working with a leading Main Contractor delivering a long-term MOD framework in Reading, offering a secure pipeline of work for a minimum of 3 years, with potential for further extension. The project consists of a combination of new build and refurbishment schemes, forming part of a wider defence infrastructure programme. The new build elements will include a variety of structures such as office buildings, storage units, and ancillary buildings, constructed using a mix of steel frame and reinforced concrete (RC) frame methods. Refurbishment works will involve upgrades to existing facilities, including internal reconfigurations, M&E enhancements, and fabric repairs, all delivered within live operational environments.
Security Clearance Required
Due to the nature of the work and associated security clearance requirements, this role is open only to candidates holding British nationality. Successful applicants will have to undergo security vetting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and programme compliance
- Coordinating subcontractors and trades to ensure smooth project delivery
- Managing site documentation, permits, and health & safety compliance
- Liaising with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Monitoring progress and reporting to the Project Manager
- Ensuring works are delivered to specification and within agreed timescales
- Interface with the client on a daily basis
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Site/Project Manager on MOD or secured environment projects would be beneficial but not essential
- Strong background in managing both new build and refurbishment works
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
- Eligibility for security clearance is essential
