A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major hyperscale data centre project in Paris.
This is an opportunity to take overall responsibility for the successful execution of a large-scale, mission-critical project, leading multidisciplinary teams from construction through commissioning and client handover.
Working within a fast-paced environment, you will drive programme delivery, commercial performance, quality, safety and client satisfaction while leading one of Europe's most technically advanced construction projects.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Project Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of project delivery, ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
You will lead integrated project teams across engineering, construction, commercial, planning, procurement, commissioning and HSE, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.

- Provide overall leadership and accountability for the successful delivery of a major hyperscale data centre project.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams throughout construction, commissioning and final handover.
- Develop and implement project execution strategies to achieve programme, commercial and operational objectives.
- Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, environmental performance and quality across all project activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Oversee project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, cost control and commercial reporting.
- Drive programme performance through effective planning, risk management and recovery strategies where required.
- Lead contract administration, change management and project governance in collaboration with commercial teams.
- Monitor project performance using key operational and commercial KPIs, ensuring timely reporting to senior management.
- Promote a collaborative culture focused on operational excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Support the successful planning and execution of commissioning activities and client handover. About You:
- Extensive experience delivering major engineering or construction projects in a senior leadership capacity.
- Proven success managing complex, high-value projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong commercial, contractual and financial management expertise.
- Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams within fast-paced project environments.
- Excellent client-facing, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of programme management, project controls and risk management.
- A commitment to fostering a positive safety culture and delivering projects to the highest quality standards.
- Outstanding communication, leadership and decision-making abilities. Desirable Experience
- Previous experience delivering hyperscale data centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing or other mission-critical projects.
- Experience within mechanical and electrical (MEP) contracting or integrated engineering environments.
- Knowledge of commissioning, testing and project handover processes.
- Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC or equivalent construction contracts.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
