An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors, delivering a landmark high-rise residential development in Nottingham.
This is a key commercial role on a major project, offering the chance to work within a highly regarded team on a complex, high-value scheme from construction through to final account.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll take ownership of the commercial management of significant work packages, ensuring the project is delivered safely, profitably, and in line with contractual requirements.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing the commercial performance of subcontract packages from procurement through to final account.
- Preparing and reviewing valuations, applications for payment, and cost reports.
- Forecasting project costs, cash flow, and financial performance.
- Identifying, pricing, and managing variations and change control.
- Administering subcontractor accounts, including payments and final accounts.
- Managing contractual risks and opportunities.
- Supporting procurement and supply chain engagement.
- Producing accurate monthly CVRs and commercial reporting.
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Mentoring and supporting Assistant and Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team.
About You
We're looking for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor who has experience delivering major construction projects for a main contractor.
You'll ideally have
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
- Strong experience on high-rise residential, mixed-use, or large-scale building projects.
- Excellent knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
- A strong understanding of cost management, procurement, and commercial reporting.
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build lasting client relationships.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- MRICS or working towards chartership is advantageous but not essential.
