One of Europe’s leading general contractors is seeking a Mechanical Lead for a brand new Life Sciences project in the Kerry region of Munster. The Mechanical Lead will work for an innovative, forward-thinking contractor that operates a diverse business model.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on large pharmaceutical, life sciences or industrial projects, be well versed in all things process piping and comfortable leading a mechanical package valued over €50m. This is an excellent opportunity to transfer into a booming sector and will continue to do so over the coming years. With the order book full until 2026, there is excellent scope for a high-performing Mechanical Lead to play a crucial part in this growth.
Mechanical Lead Duties:- Assist and lead in the management of Site Safety in conjunction with the project team and the Safety management.
- Play a lead role in the management of Site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager.
- Support in the oversight of all day-to-day site operations.
- Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme).
- Direct management of the project team, including alignment of all discipline leads to the benefit of project goals.
- Liaise with the client and establish a trusting relationship to ensure future project opportunities.
- Manage and drive a large team to meet all project requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure all Subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.
- Assist in projected labour projections from the field supervisors.
- Assist with the commercial team to ensure all variations are captured and costs issued to the client.
- Good strong knowledge of the full design and construction process.
- Process piping experience.
- Life Sciences/pharmaceutical experience.
- Ability to control and manage people and programs.
- An Engineering Degree would be of advantage.
- Proven record of coordinating and managing large projects.
