I am currently recruiting a Shell & Core Construction Manager for a new large scale data centre project in Helsinki. The client is a market leading principal contractor that is best known for delivering complex infrastructure within this space and is renowned for having strong relationships with multinational blue chip clients in the sector.

As Shell & Core Manager you will be responsible for overseeing everything involved in the superstructure, from frame and envelope package to internal fit out. You will be well supported with Project Manager and Project Director above you, reporting to a Regional Director also.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large scale build projects on time and within budget. This company is renowned for promoting from within, making it an excellent opportunity for someone that sees themselves as a Project Lead later down the line.

Shell & Core Manager Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for timely delivery of frame, envelope and internal fit out
  • Checking the quality of work as required
  • Working with and managing subcontractors involves keeping a daily diary of levels of work for each subcontractor
  • Managing setting out engineers and junior engineers/staff on site
  • Calculating and ordering of materials to the site
  • Planning work schedules
  • Liaising with Consultants, Project Manager, Quantity Surveyors and subcontractors
Shell & Core Manager Key Requirements:
  • Relevant 3rd level qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Can also come from a trade background
  • Confident using Microsoft packages and AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Methodical and solutions focused
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate personnel on site
  • Client side experience desirable
