Main contractor seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee the entire logistics process, from material procurement to on-site deliveries. You will be working on a 50M retirement villa project that has just broken ground. This is a permanent role, with a strong pipeline of upcoming work within London and surrounding counties.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently allocate materials, equipment, and personnel to construction sites based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and reorder supplies as needed.
- Ensure all plant (i.e. forklifts, hoists, generators) are being maintained, in service, and checks are being completed and recorded.
- Oversee the transportation of materials and equipment to construction sites, optimizing routes and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all logistics operations.
- Identify cost‐saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce logistics expenses.
- Supervise and motivate a team of logistics personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Address logistics‐related issues and develop innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Logistics Manager in the construction industry.
- Relevant training certificates (SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Traffic Management).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations.
