Falcon Green have partnered with an international tier 1 engineering contractor that specialises in the delivery of modern‑day mission critical and data centre infrastructure across Europe, in their search for a CSA biased Design Manager to be based in Helsinki. Due to a large increase in project pipeline and recent company growth across mainland Europe, they are now expanding their Design team and require a Design Manager that is detail driven and boasts strong project delivery ability.
In terms of experience, someone coming from a data centre background is advantageous however not a necessity. Project delivery ability, proven track record, commercial awareness, technical ability and people management ability is key. You will be working for a market leading contractor that operates a diverse business model and demands modern health and safety and employee engagement practises. With the order book full for several years in Central Europe, there is excellent scope for a credible Design Manager to step into a Division Lead role after successfully delivering this project.
Design Manager Responsibilities- Regular meetings with the production team and ensuring all technical issues are addressed immediately
- Manage and coordinate external consultants
- Prepare technical specifications
- Liaise with key personnel within the project team in preparation of project costing and design works
- Control the design process, from planning application through to project completion
- Ensure consultants prepare the detailed design by Employers Requirement and Contractors Proposals
- Manage and review the design development process ensuring value engineering and buildability are considered
- Set up information registers and ensure information control is following all relevant procedures
- Review design development to allow construction of works to follow safe working practices
- Over five years' experience as a design/technical manager with a developer/main contractor CSA background is essential
- Degree qualified in relevant engineering or architectural field
- History of completing projects on time and within budget
- Career ambitious and solution focused attitude
