Join one of Europe’s leading data centre contractors who are seeking an Electrical Engineer for a brand-new project in Belgium. As the Electrical Engineer, you will work for an innovative, forward-thinking contractor that operates a diverse business model.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to transfer into a booming sector which will continue to do so over the coming years. The data centre sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in construction and the need for its infrastructure will continue to grow for years to come. With the order book full for another 5+ years, there is excellent scope for a high-performing Electrical Engineer to play a crucial part in this growth.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience, determination and be focused on delivering leading-edge construction solutions across a range of key sectors, including data centre and pharmaceutical. In terms of experience, someone coming from a data centre background is advantageous however not a necessity.

Responsibilities:

  • Information reporting will be an essential activity to ensure activity deadlines are met to support the project team.
  • Familiarisation of Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of the Project works. Overseeing the Co-ordination process to transform design information into full installation drawings by BIM personnel ensuring spec compliance and as per schedule priority.
  • Assisting the Installation Package team to manage the project's quality needs on-site, guiding to ensure we are compliant to all relevant standards/codes and specifications associated.
  • Assessment of Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns for Technical compliance with design intent specifications.
  • Familiarisation with the Project schedule and ensuring Engineering activities do not impact on same (e.g. Procurement, etc).
  • Management of the technical submittal, approvals.
  • Ensure Works are installed in accordance with Project specifications and to the Project QA plan.
  • Management of Sub-contractors and ensuring adequate information flow to ensure works progress in line with the Project Schedule and Weekly Meeting logged.
  • Evaluate and promote the use of new engineering practices and processes to enhance the delivery time of the project.
  • Preparing Sub-contract and Supplier Tender Packages in conjunction with Project QS.

Requirements:

  • Data centre experience advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and project planning skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Navisworks and Database systems related to Engineering functions.
  • Familiar with Project /Primavera planning software and CAD/BIM process.
