We are in search of a proficient EHS Advisor to become part of a vibrant team engaged in a Data Centre initiative located in Groningen. What you'll do
- Assist site management in the execution of health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform regular inspections and audits on-site to verify adherence to health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness among all staff members.
- Provide guidance and support in the development and implementation of risk assessments and safe work procedures.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for employees to enhance their understanding of EHS protocols and responsibilities.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and assist in the preparation of necessary documentation and reports.
- Act as a point of contact for EHS-related inquiries and provide expert advice to project teams and management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Participate in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and clients, to foster positive relationships and ensure compliance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of EHS policies and procedures based on feedback and lessons learned from site activities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in an EHS role, ideally within the construction or data centre industries.
- A relevant degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a similar discipline.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Proven track record of conducting audits and inspections in a construction or data centre setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, demonstrating a commitment to environmental management and occupational health and safety.
- NEBOSH certification or an equivalent qualification, showcasing a solid foundation in health and safety principles.
- Experience in implementing EHS management systems and tools to enhance compliance and reporting efficiency.
