Well-established and growing main contractor is seeking an Aftercare Manager to lead their expanding Aftercare team. You will be responsible for overseeing defect resolution, client relationships, and the smooth handover of projects during the liability period. This is a pivotal role within the business, offering autonomy and the opportunity to shape aftercare processes. The position will be based between the Head Office in Farringdon, as well as on-site across London attending project handovers and defect inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the aftercare team, including coordinators and engineers, ensuring high standards and efficient workflows.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, resolving queries and defects promptly.
- Oversee defect reporting systems (Clixifix) and ensure timely completion of remedial works.
- Organise site visits, engineer schedules, and client meetings, ensuring SLAs are consistently met.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Contractors, and Managing Agents to resolve issues efficiently.
- Train and mentor team members on systems and processes, and support client onboarding.
- Provide weekly and monthly updates to senior management, and implement process improvements where needed.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in aftercare, defect management, or a similar client-facing construction role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and coordinate multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Confident, proactive, and able to work independently while driving results.
- Familiarity with Clixifix or similar defect management software is highly desirable.
- Construction knowledge, including the ability to read plans and understand common defects.
