Assistant Site Manager required to join a reputable main contractor delivering the refurbishment and redevelopment of a major seafront scheme in Brighton. The project consists of demolition, reconstruction, refurbishment, and infrastructure works to transform existing arches into new restaurant, café, retail, pub, and office units. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join a technically challenging project and work alongside an experienced site team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of site operations.
- Assist with the coordination of subcontractors across demolition, structural, refurbishment, and infrastructure packages.
- Monitor site progress and ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme and quality standards.
- Carry out site inspections and ensure health & safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Assist with QA procedures, snagging, and recording site progress using project management software.
- Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Attend daily briefings and weekly progress meetings with the wider project team.
- Support logistics management and site coordination on a busy live construction environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working for a main contractor as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor.
- Experience on refurbishment, commercial, structural, or fit out projects is advantageous.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures and site compliance.
- CSCS is essential, with SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid advantageous.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to progress within site management.
