We are currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager for an Award-Winning National Main Contractor on a new project in Wellingborough. This project is primarily a retrofit scheme which consists of cladding replacement, M&E upgrades and Fabric replacement but also has an element of civils due to a new carpark being built.
As Assistant Site Manager you will support the site team on all aspects of the build package, reporting to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily site operations and deputise in their absence to ensure smooth project progression.
- Track construction against timelines, identify delays, and help implement corrective actions.
- Ensure site activities comply with health and safety regulations, carry out inductions, and maintain clean, safe working environments.
- Inspect works to ensure they meet the required standards, drawings, and specifications, particularly during key stages like groundworks, shell, and fit-out.
- Supervise and communicate with trades and subcontractors to ensure delivery of tasks on time and to quality standards.
- Maintain accurate site records, including RAMS, site diaries, snag lists, and handover paperwork.
- Help manage material schedules, coordinate deliveries, and ensure appropriate storage and handling on-site.
Experience Required:
- 2/3 years site supervision experience required ideally working in the commercial sector.
- Main Contracting experience is beneficial but applicants from subcontracting backgrounds wont be discounted.
- SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid and CSCS are essential.
- Ability to start within a week.
