We are looking for an SAP Technical Architect for a permanent position to work with one of our leading clients. We need someone who has both the technical understanding of the SAP architecture and also an enterprise-wide view of all the required areas to be addressed for a complex SAP program.
Responsibilities
- Define, design and deliver SAP architectural designs.
- Define, design and drive the list of contracted documentation required for each phase and map to best practices from SAP.
- Develop overall solutions including high-level design (e.g. Whiteboarding), statements of work (SOW), service design and bills of materials (BOM).
- Contribute to service delivery and engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
- Analyse and gather business requirements from large and complex client environments and perform required research and investigation to identify and create thorough, accurate technical solution proposals based on client requirements.
- Overall coordination of all the assessment sub-streams (business process stream, technical architecture stream, change management stream, governance stream, SW vendor assessment, and negotiation stream).
- Manage and coordinate project team activities and deliverables.
- Manage assessment plan, monitoring progress and reporting risks vs milestones.
- Coordinate preparation and execution of planned workshops.
- Coordinate vendors at a detailed level.
- Ability in project coordination and strong support in presentation preparation at various stakeholder levels.
- Manage issue list and escalate to leadership if necessary.
Skills/Experience Required
- Total experience: 15+ years.
- Experience in architecting complex ERP projects in big consumer companies.
- Complete understanding of the SAP ACTIVATE methodology with deliverables and best practices.
- Understanding of all ERP project phases and the required deliverables.
- Architectural understanding of SAP and ecosystem.
- TOGAF preferable or equivalent certification is preferable.
- SDM experience is a plus but not a must.
- SAP cloud deployments and migrations.
- SAP architecture design.
- Significant hands-on SAP experience in on-premise and cloud solutions architecture.
- Ability to independently conduct meetings with engineering-level, management-level or executive-level customer personnel regarding positioning solutions.
- Good understanding of most of the SAP modules, integration options (PI/PO), BTP, CPI.
- Strong technical understanding of SAP, e.g. ABAP, Fiori and business processes.
Other Requirements
- Fluent in English; Italian is a plus.
- Availability to travel at least once per month, for 2 or 3 days, to the customer headquarters (Parma, Italy).
- Should have no limitations to work in Europe as per project requirements.
