Student Care and Support Worker – Flexible Part-Time Hours

Are you a student looking for meaningful part-time work that can fit around your lectures, assignments and other commitments?

We offer flexible care and support work that allows you to choose shifts that work around your timetable. Whether you are available before or after lectures, during the day, in the evenings or at weekends, we may have opportunities to suit your availability.

Shifts can range from 1-hour care visits to up to 20 hours per week, giving you the flexibility to gain valuable work experience while continuing with your studies.

About the Role

Job Title: Student Care and Support Worker – Car Drivers

Location: Staines and surrounding areas

Hours: Part-time, flexible – up to 20 hours per week

Working Pattern: Weekdays, evenings and/or weekends, depending on your availability

As a Care and Support Worker, you will support people to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities.

Your role may involve providing:

  • Companionship and emotional support
  • Personal care and support with daily routines
  • Assistance with household tasks
  • Support with shopping, appointments and community activities
  • Encouragement to remain independent and make choices about their lives
  • Support with mobility and everyday activities
  • Helping clients stay connected with their family, friends and local community

You will support people who may require assistance due to illness, injury, mobility or memory difficulties, chronic conditions or other circumstances that make everyday activities more challenging.

Why This Role is Great for Students

We understand that your studies come first. Our flexible approach allows you to work around your timetable and other commitments.

This role can provide you with:

  • Flexible shifts around your studies
  • The opportunity to choose hours that suit your availability
  • Valuable experience working with people and within the community
  • Transferable skills including communication, teamwork, organisation and problem-solving
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference in someone's life
  • Experience that can support your future career, particularly if you are interested in health, social care, nursing, psychology, education or other people-focused professions

You do not need to be available every day. We are particularly interested in students who can commit to regular weekend, evening or other agreed shifts alongside their studies.

About You

We are looking for caring, reliable and responsible individuals who:

  • Are passionate about supporting others
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are respectful, patient and compassionate
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Are reliable and able to commit to agreed shifts
  • Are willing to learn and complete the required training
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle for work
  • Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as training and support will be provided.

This is a community-based role, where you will provide care and support to individuals in the comfort of their own homes or sheltered housing accommodation.

Our mission is to provide tailored care that enables people to continue living independently, do more of what matters to them and remain active and connected within their communities.

We are committed to creating an environment where you feel respected, supported and empowered, while giving you opportunities to learn, develop and apply your skills.
