As we launch in this new area, you'll need to be adaptable and available up to 7 days a week. The shifts will have variable and sporadic hours to begin with. The local authority has already offered us 75.25 hours of care, but we need our start-up team in place to accept them, this is where you come in! We are seeking a full-time Domiciliary Care Assistant to join our team in Tendring. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide essential care, support, and companionship to clients in their own homes, helping them maintain independence and dignity. Your work will have a direct, positive impact on their well-being. We will support you every step of the way.
Our clients range from 21 to over 100 years old and may include individuals who are elderly, physically disabled, have sensory impairments, dementia, or learning disabilities. During your interview, we’ll discuss your preferences, any specialties you may have, and tailor your rota to suit your strengths and comfort areas. If you’re ready to join a team that values compassion, dedication, and excellence in care, Faiths Care Ltd. would love to welcome you.
Your role as a Domiciliary Care Assistant:
- Providing personal care: assisting with bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure clients' comfort and dignity.
- Supporting with daily living tasks: helping with meal prep, light housekeeping, and errands to keep clients' homes running smoothly.
- Being a companion: offering emotional support and companionship to enrich clients' lives.
- Medication support: helping clients with medication management and ensuring they stick to their care plans and communicating any issues back to the management team.
- Transportation assistance: driving clients to appointments, sourcing modes of transport or helping with errands when needed.
- Clear communication: regularly updating families and care teams on clients' needs and preferences to ensure the best possible care.
What We’re Looking For in a Domiciliary Care Assistant:
- Previous experience as a domiciliary care assistant or a similar field is a bonus, but not essential as we’ll provide all the training you need!
- Excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and their families and to communicate effectively to the office team with any changes in need to ensure person-centred care at all times.
- A caring and patient nature; you should be passionate about helping others and making a difference in their lives.
- A valid driver's license is essential, as you’ll be transporting clients to and from appointments.
- Basic IT skills; we use simple tools for documentation and communication, so comfort with technology is helpful.
