Job Summary
We are recruiting a reliable and professional Warehouse Operative/Delivery Driver for Cwtch Mawr. The role is dual. Your primary duties are local and regional deliveries, partner-facing service, and core warehouse tasks. You will also follow a structured learning pathway to develop Community Coordinator skills so that you can support centres with simple feedback loops, restock planning, and dignity in service.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving and delivery
- Deliver essential goods to charity partners and family centres across Swansea with scope to extend across South Wales and wider areas following road traffic law.
- Operate a Mercedes-Benz eSprinter (L2H2, MWB) electric van. Category B licence holders may drive this zero-emission vehicle up to 4.25 tonnes MAM under DVLA rules from June 2025.
- Provide courteous, professional service at each site.
- Load and unload safely using correct manual handling.
- Complete daily vehicle checks, keep the van clean, and report defects.
- Record deliveries, signatures, discrepancies, and return any issues promptly.
- Warehouse operations
- Pick, pack, and label orders accurately for dispatch.
- Receive and check stock against documentation.
- Monitor stock levels, report discrepancies, and assist with stock counts.
- Operate pallet trucks and, if trained, a forklift.
- Serve partners collecting from the warehouse.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety.
Person Specification
- Experienced delivery driver with a full, clean UK Category B licence.
- Confident driving a medium wheelbase electric van.
- Fit for regular manual handling.
- Friendly, professional, and attentive to detail.
- Clear communicator who can build trust with centre staff.
- Organised, calm under pressure, and a team player.
- Forklift licence holder is desirable, or willing to train.
- Values aligned to dignity, equality, and practical support.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Category B driving licence.
- As of June 2025, Category B licence holders may drive zero-emission vehicles up to 4.25 tonnes MAM, including our eSprinter vans.
- Demonstrable experience of delivery driving.
- Ability to perform physical tasks safely.
- Basic literacy and numeracy for logs and stock control.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a polite, helpful manner.
- Over 25 to comply with vehicle insurance requirements.
Desirable Requirements
- Valid forklift licence, counterbalance preferred.
- Previous warehouse or dispatch experience.
- Understanding of safeguarding and data protection in community settings.
- Experience in the charity or public sector.
Benefits
- Holiday entitlement that increases with length of service to a maximum of 33 days plus 8 bank holidays (based on full time equivalent of 37 hours per week).
- Sickness pay that increases with length of service to a maximum of 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay.
