Summary: Clinically screen patients for nutrition risks and take appropriate action. Consult at contract facilities as a representative of Faith Health. Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ability to appropriately modify approach and procedures to meet needs of age/diversity of population served.
- Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the Nutrition Services Department as defined in the scope of practice, to assure that the unique nature of the patient is addressed.
- Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate interventions in meeting the needs of the population served, as defined in the age-specific standards of care giving.
- Demonstrates the ability to accurately assess patients’ needs using organizational standards of practice guidelines.
- Makes appropriate recommendations for enteral tube feedings and parenteral formulas and makes recommendations regarding changes based on the nutritional needs of the patient.
- Is knowledgeable of therapeutic diets and demonstrates the ability to use the organization’s diet manual as a resource.
- Identifies the need for education and documents the education process in the patient’s medical record and care plan.
Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job Requirements:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- EDUCATION FIELD OF STUDY: Nutrition/Dietetics or related field required.
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or be RD eligible (registration exam must be passed prior to start date) required. Current Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist (LMNT) license from the state of Nebraska required.
- EXPERIENCE: Previous healthcare experience preferred.
- SKILLS: Language Skills – Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.
- Other Certifications/Requirements: Current, valid driver’s license issued in the state of legal residence required.
