We are in search of a Network Engineer for our Leidos engineering capability. The successful Network Engineer will have a full understanding of systems engineering principles, prior experience as a Network Engineer involving accepting and integrating deliveries from suppliers, and experience working with customers and suppliers to execute Systems Engineering activities across the full lifecycle.

What you will do

Your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain a small but complex network incorporating multiple technologies with a focus on security and stability. You will perform a blend of operational support and specific project activity, with occasional travel to other Leidos and customer sites. Keeping an eye on the technology landscape and identifying new technologies to solve problems and improve solutions is part of the job.

Qualifications

  • Current clearance, or willingness to go through the DV clearance process.
  • Proven hands-on network engineering experience, managing project delivery and network re-design.
  • CCNP or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders from multiple organisations, both technical and non-technical.
  • Experience in managing the workloads of others.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with firewall technologies including Cisco ASA and Palo Alto.
  • Experience with configuring and maintaining Cisco Call Manager.
  • Experience mentoring less-experienced staff.
  • Experience leading a small team of engineers.
  • Working knowledge of radio technologies, in particular ROIP.
  • Experience working with industry partners and platform integrators to support platform integration and installation.

Location

The role will be based in Herefordshire, with very occasional travel to other sites.

Clearance Required

This role will require DV clearance.
