As an Accuracy Checking Technician, youwill play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate supply of medicinesfor patients receiving treatment across the Trusts inpatient wards and mentalhealth services. Although employed by Fairview, your day-to-day work will focuson delivering a high-quality dispensary service to the Mental Health Trust,supporting clinical teams and contributing directly to patient care.You will be responsible for performing final accuracy checks on dispenseditems, supporting efficient workflow, and maintaining the highest standards ofsafety, compliance, and professionalism.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Performfinal accuracy checks on dispensed medications in line with ACT accreditationand SOPs.
  • Ensureall medicines match prescriptions, are labelled correctly, and meet safety andquality standards.
  • Supportthe preparation and timely supply of medication orders for inpatient units andTrust clinics.
  • Workcollaboratively with pharmacists and dispensary staff to resolve discrepanciesand maintain smooth workflow.
  • Maintainaccurate documentation and records in accordance with regulatory andorganisational requirements.
  • Assistwith stock control, ordering, and inventory management to ensure continuity ofsupply.
  • Uphold all health and safety standards, including the safe handling and storage of medicines.

We operate a growing network of pharmacies and WDA-licensed premises across London, Gloucester, the West Midlands, and the North of England, supporting both Community and Mental Health Trusts.We are now strengthening our team at our on-site pharmacy based at Bowmere Hospital in Chester, where Fairview operates the dispensary responsible for supplying medicines exclusively for Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust inpatient units and outpatient clinics.This role is an excellent opportunity for an Accuracy Checking Technician who is keen to work in a hospital environment, particularly within a Mental Health Trust, while being fully employed and supported by Fairview Health.

Job responsibilities

The Accuracy Checking Technician will support the delivery of a safe,accurate, and efficient dispensary service within the Fairviewoperated pharmacy at Bowmere Hospital. The serviceprovides medicines exclusively for Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHSFoundation Trust inpatient units and outpatient clinics.

Working as part of a busy hospitalbased dispensaryteam, the postholder will be responsible for carrying out final accuracy checkson dispensed items, ensuring all medicines supplied meet legal, clinical, andorganisational standards. The role also supports the preparation of medication orders,stock management, recordkeeping, andmaintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

The ACT will work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, andwider clinical teams to ensure timely supply of medicines to mental healthwards and services. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, andthe ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary setting areessential.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a hospital environmentwithin a Mental Health Trust while being fully employed and supported byFairview Health.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Previous experience in a dispensary environment, ideally with accuracy checking responsibilities.
  • Experience with pharmacy IT systems is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to manage workload efficiently in a busy, service driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
