Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Online Consultant Psychiatrist to conduct full ADHD and autism assessments, including medical evaluations, differential diagnoses, and treatment recommendations. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure each client receives an accurate diagnosis and appropriate support. The role involves conducting virtual consultations, prescribing medication when necessary, and contributing to the development of individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive ADHD and autism assessments via telehealth, using gold-standard diagnostic tools (e.g., ADOS-2, QBTest, Conners).
- Provide formal diagnoses and clinical reports with recommendations for treatment and accommodations.
- Prescribe medication for ADHD and related conditions when required, following clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including clinical psychologists, ADHD coaches, therapists, occupational therapists, and speech & language therapists, to develop holistic treatment plans.
- Offer psychoeducation and support to clients and families regarding ADHD and autism.
- Ensure compliance with GMC guidelines and ethical considerations when conducting assessments and prescribing medication.
- Attend virtual team meetings and case discussions to contribute to best practices and ongoing clinical improvements.
Requirements
- Fully licensed psychiatrist with GMC registration and specialist training in neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Extensive experience in conducting ADHD and autism assessments, including knowledge of diagnostic frameworks such as DSM-5 and ICD-11.
- Ability to prescribe ADHD medication and manage treatment plans.
- Strong background in working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in producing high-quality diagnostic reports.
- Tech-savvy, with experience in using telehealth platforms for remote consultations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in both private and NHS settings.
- Additional training in ADHD coaching, psychotherapy, or neurodevelopmental interventions.
- Familiarity with special educational needs (SEN) processes for school-based accommodations.
