More about this role

As the WhoScored Marketing Manager, you’ll play a key role in activating WhoScored huge global audience. You’ll be targeted with core KPI’s which align with FairPlay Sports Media key initiatives, including first party data collection, growing our loyal and registered audience and developing new revenue streams. You’ll be responsible for generating revenue from WhoScored properties. You will have a data first approach, and be heavily involved with all product advancements, and especially subscription growth. You’ll build on existing revenue streams, and be expected to explore new global revenue opportunities. This role will require at least 2 days in our office in Waterloo, London.

You will be responsible for:

  • Commercial Sponsorship: Present commercial and sponsorship opportunities to the Commercial team, including social activations and global API integrations.
  • Subscription Revenue: Execute marketing campaigns to drive subscriptions and collaborate with CRM teams to improve retention strategies.
  • Automated Content: Oversee delivery of automated, AI-powered content across WhoScored platforms to ensure freshness and relevance.
  • Partnerships: Build and manage relationships with key partners, including football governing bodies and media publishers. Identify new opportunities to grow brand exposure and marketing impact.

You will be accountable for:

  • Site Monetisation: Manage current revenue streams while identifying new commercial opportunities globally to diversify and grow income.
  • User Growth: Drive acquisition and engagement of loyal and registered users through coordinated marketing efforts and product enhancements.
  • Site Optimisation: Collaborate with operational teams to maintain and optimise WhoScored’s digital properties for user experience and commercial performance.
  • Marketing Strategy: Lead end-to-end marketing strategy—including campaigns, promotions, advertising, digital planning, and budget oversight.
  • Content & Social: Align with content and social teams to produce campaigns and creative that build brand equity and audience engagement.

You will be supporting:

  • Product Development: Act as a key stakeholder in the product roadmap, using user and market insights to suggest enhancements that improve conversion and engagement.
  • Content Campaigns: Support editorial teams in planning content around key football events and trends, driving authority and relevance.
  • Brand & Design: Collaborate with creative teams to ensure consistency in brand messaging across all touchpoints.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with SEO, content, CRM, product, and commercial teams to deliver integrated marketing initiatives.

Your skillset:

  • 5+ years of marketing experience in sport, entertainment, or consumer brands, ideally within the UK market.
  • Proven track record in planning and executing effective marketing campaigns.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about football, with awareness of fan behaviour and digital trends.
  • Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experienced across both B2C and B2B marketing environments.
  • Expertise in CRM, content marketing, and social media strategy.
  • Confident in analysing performance data and applying learnings to optimise campaigns.
