A rare opportunity has arisen for a Seasonal Gardener to join our dedicated team. As a vital member of the Grounds and Gardens team at Fairmont St Andrews, you’ll help maintain our estate’s breathtaking beauty and high standards. Working closely with the golf course team and maintaining a good positive team culture, your tasks will include:
- Undertake general maintenance responsibilities of gardens and grounds, to include grass areas, shrub maintenance, bedding displays and hard and soft landscaping works.
- Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation and planting.
- Lawn maintenance and cultivation.
- Be proficient with the use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery.
- Experience with the use of cylinder and rotary mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers.
- Be responsible for adjustments of mower height and quality of cut, etc.
- Oil level checks and check for damage to any mower.
- To ensure all equipment, machinery and buildings are secure.
- To keep the gardens, thoroughfares and highway footpaths clear and free from litter at all times.
- Ensure good Health and Safety practices and associated documentation.
- Ensure good stock control and related record documentation.
- Must be presentable at all times, wearing the correct uniform.
- Ensure that Fairmont Operational Service-Plus standards are always followed throughout the golf department.
- Assist in all operational duties when business levels require.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role is essential.
- Must be comfortable with lone working.
- You must be allowed to live and work in the UK to be able to apply for this role.
