Company Description
We’re looking for coffee-fanatic Head Baristas to be part of our team at The Hoxton, Southwark.
The Hoxton, Southwark, is the third Hoxton in our hometown of London. This borough is known for its colourful history, including the site of the former London pub The Prince Albert, where patrons bet on sport from their barstools. We offer 192 bedrooms, 2 restaurants—Albie & Seabird—and our first Working From_ location not just in London but across Europe! Albie is our all-day neighbourhood dining spot inspired by the French and Italian Riviera, serving proper breakfasts, modern dishes, and a great wine and cocktail list. Seabird, on the 14th floor rooftop, offers panoramic views, a raw bar, and an oyster list with Portuguese and Spanish influences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the barista team in creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere for guests to start their day and enjoy themselves.
- Be creative and share ideas to develop our hot & healthy drinks, contributing to our café concept and staying ahead of trends.
- Know your products and systems thoroughly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization, ensuring bars and coffee stations are in top condition.
- Lead by example, driving service standards for the best guest experience and reinforcing steps of service.
- Manage inventory, restocking, deliveries, and coffee machine maintenance.
- Ensure health and safety compliance, including allergens, hygiene, FIFO, and expiry dates.
- Support the wider bar team during transitions from breakfast and lunch to dinner and cocktail service.
Qualifications:
- Previous Head Barista or Café supervisor experience.
- Knowledge of coffee extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.
- Familiarity with coffee machines, tools, and equipment.
- Experience with ordering, inventory, and storage management.
- A natural people person, confident behind the bar, and great with guests.
- Looking for a place to be yourself; no clones in suits here.
- Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable experiences.
- Open-minded, willing to try new things, and team-oriented.
Additional Benefits:
- £12.60 plus TRONC
- 28 days holidays (including bank holidays), pension, and life insurance.
- Health cash plan and mental health support services.
- Retail and hospitality perks, including a free night and a meal for two at The Hoxton upon starting.
- Employee discounts across Ennismore brands.
- Annual free night at The Hoxton and milestone bonuses.
- Opportunities for career progression within a global family of brands.
- Training, learning academies, and development programs.
- Extra time off for volunteering.
- Regular team events and parties to foster team spirit.
