The Savoy is one of the world's most iconic hotels. We are the original British luxury hotel, opened in 1889, and have a reputation for outstanding service excellence. We blend our rich history with innovation, and have played host to royalty, world leaders, and legends of the stage and screen. Today, we pride ourselves on creating special memories for our guests by delivering the very best in five-star luxury hospitality. Our award-winning, colleague-centric culture truly differentiates us in the luxury hospitality marketplace.

Your purpose will be to create a sophisticated and memorable experience for each and every guest who walks through the door no matter who they are. Whilst remembering the order and serving the correct drink is important, making an emotional connection with our guests and making their time in the bar memorable (in a good way) is most important. You will be looking after several tables at once, talking with the guests, making recommendations if needed, as well as collaborating and clearly communicating with the host, bar, and management team to ensure a seamless five-star experience for our guests.

Learning and following our five-star standards will be a requirement and key to your success; the expectation being that you will perform to measurable targets. You will learn how to deliver five-star hospitality, and you will be trained on service sequence and standards; as well as being expected within a reasonable timescale to be confident in your knowledge of our cocktails, champagnes, wines and food that we serve. You will attend trainings and learn from other team members on a daily basis as well as being coached by your leader on the job. Above all, you will be part of a great team and community that has a lot of fun and proudly gets to represent The Savoy.

Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.

What you will need to do this role:

  • 1-2 years serving or hosting experience in a luxury hospitality environment
  • Passion for and understanding of five-star hospitality and what it takes to deliver it
  • Quick thinking, resourceful and able to solve problems 'in the moment'
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous at all times
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willing to work in rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Rights to work in the UK
  • Basic knowledge of a POS System
  • Basic knowledge of Open table

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary, pension, and life assurance
  • 31 days of holiday (including public holidays) increasing to 33 days after 5 years
  • Cashback for wellbeing/healthcare expenses & Perkbox
  • Savoy, Fairmont, Raffles, and Accor hotels (friends & family rates included)
  • 50% off at American & Beaufort Bars, Afternoon Tea, spa, florist, and select Gordon Ramsay restaurants
  • 20% off at other Gordon Ramsay restaurants and Restaurant 1890
  • Free stay at The Savoy after probation
  • Colleague restaurant, interfaith prayer room and wellness room
  • Laundry services for all colleagues
  • Employee assistance program
  • Optician reimbursements, and local discounts for F&B and retail
