Fairmont St Andrews are recruiting a Director of Sales to join our Five Star Golf Resort. We are looking for a rising star who is driven, hungry, loves Travel and Tourism and selling one of the best resorts in Scotland. This role does require the candidate to be based onsite in St Andrews - ideally two to three days a week - however the ability to travel freely is essential.

What you will be doing:

  • The Director of Sales will proactively drive new business into the hotel.
  • Target and contract new direct, consortia and agency business as required and in line with the hotel sales strategy for the Domestic and International market.
  • Manage and develop existing accounts and hunt for new business.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and help manage and develop the existing MICE team.
  • Manage and support the Sales Team.
  • Network and influence the brand global sales teams.
  • Drive all leisure sales initiatives and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular trips to see clients and attend trade shows.

  • Hotel sales & marketing experience is essential.
  • A strong understanding of the leisure segment is a must.
  • Current experience and contacts within MICE markets are required.
  • A proven track record of successful account management and business development essential.
  • A self-motivated, proactive and can-do attitude is required.
  • Tenacious, hungry and accountable. Ready to go to the next level in your career.
  • This role is for a go-getter not an account manager.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to travel freely is essential.
