Your purpose will be: The Bar-Back will provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service in a luxury 5-star brand inspired hotel bar/lounge where attention to detail is key.
You Will Be Accountable For:
- Carrying out specific tasks for Bar Back to ensure smooth running of the bar.
- Attending to all guest requests, being constantly aware of anticipating guests’ needs and remaining in the restaurant at all times during service.
- Producing drinks orders accurately and in a timely fashion meeting service essentials timings.
- Helping to ensure the smooth running of all guests' requirements and needs on each table.
- Providing assistance to all areas of the restaurants.
- Effectively managing your time and productivity whilst at work.
- Ensuring a clean stocked bar for a smooth running of the bar areas.
- Ensuring clean fridges for smooth running service.
- Preparing appropriate mise-en-place, glasses, garnishes.
- Cleaning and vacuuming in and around the restaurant areas as required and directed by the manager on duty.
- Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
- Approaching the guest in the correct manner as laid out by Fairmont Standards.
- Using the guests' names whenever possible, in accordance with Fairmont Standards.
- Having full knowledge of the food and drinks menu to explain, recommend, and sell dishes to our guests.
- Following and completing any instructions given by your Managers.
- Attending briefings and departmental meetings.
- Speaking English at all times within the Savoy Hotel.
- Having good Micros skills and following correctly the Micros billing system.
What you will need to do this role:
- 1-3 years’ experience in the Hospitality Industry.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written & verbal.
- Proven organizational skills, works well on their own.
- Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
