Your Purpose
The purpose of this role is to craft exceptional baked goods for the hotel’s main kitchen, producing high‑quality breads and pastries that reflect the luxury standards of Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere. Through precise technique, consistency, and attention to detail, this role supports the wider culinary team in delivering outstanding dining experiences across the hotel.
Job Description
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and bakery items to five‑star standards
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation across all baked goods
- Support daily production for breakfast, banqueting, restaurants, and in‑room dining
- Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and allergen control procedures
- Assist with menu development and seasonal bakery offerings
- Monitor stock levels, manage ingredients, and minimise waste
- Collaborate with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
- Train and guide junior team members in bakery techniques and standards
Qualifications
- 2-3 years previous experience as a Baker or Pastry Commis/Chef de Partie in a luxury or high‑volume environment
- Strong knowledge of artisanal baking techniques, dough handling, lamination, and pastry fundamentals
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to Fairmont brand standards
- Ability to work early mornings and manage production timelines efficiently
- Strong organisational and communication skills
