Overview

Senior Occupational Therapist responsible for highly specialised assessments and interventions within a specialist neurological setting.

You will contribute to service development, lead in rehabilitation planning, and supervise junior staff within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Manage a specialist neurological caseload and develop personalised rehabilitation programmes.
  • Conduct cognitive assessments (including WHIM SMART CRS-R MOCA MMSE) and 24-hour postural management.
  • Design and implement activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, and sensory stimulation programmes.
  • Provide education and support to residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Supervise and develop junior Occupational Therapy staff and Activity Teams.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • HCPC Registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation or complex care.
  • Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Experience undertaking specialist neurological assessments.
  • A passion for person-centred rehabilitation.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in acquired brain injury, spinal injury, neurorehabilitation, stroke, or long-term neurological conditions is highly desirable.
